1、用不用冠词，意义上有差别，比如 a sheep, 一只羊，sheep, 羊， the sheep，那只羊。若用冠词那么其意义就具体化
2、某些词或词组用或不用冠词，其意思也是不同的，如few books 没多少书（否定意味），a few books 少数几本书（肯定意味）
3、再比如JACK , 杰克（姓）， the Jacks，杰克一家。 the red and white flower红白相间的花，thered and the white flower红花和白花
4、抽象名词一般不用冠词：若用冠词那意思就具体化，如they are all of age, 他们都已成年， they are all of an age,他们都是同年龄的
5、形容词前最高级不用the则作“十分”解，如this is a most interesting book, 这是一本十分有趣的书，this is the most interesting book这是最有趣的一本书
6、在冠词和它所说明的名词之间一般都有定语，如the building materials, 动名词作定语， the movi荏鱿胫协ng water 现在分词作定语， the wasted energy过去分词作定语
