1、whether 和if 引导的宾语从句，表示“是否”，常放在动词know,ask,wonder等词后。
如：I don't know if/whether you are right. 我不知道你是否正确。
2、下列情况只能用whether。
(1)在介词(in ,on , at ,about 等词)之后
如：I am interested in whether she likes English. 我感兴趣的是她是否喜欢英语。
(2)在不定式( to+动词原形)前
如：He hasn't decided whether to visit the man. 他尚未决定是否去拜访那个人。
(3)whether与or not 连用
如：I don't know whether you are right or not. 我不知道你对不对。
(4)用if会引起歧义
如：Please tell me if you like the book.
这句话可理解为两种意思：
如果你喜欢这本书，请告诉我。
请告诉我你是否喜欢这本书。
